Dog walks through Antwerp bred a strange habit: seeing what others step over, letting it detonate a memory, then trying to pin that memory down — first by drawing it, then by rebuilding some aspect of it from real things – sometimes found on those same walks, or in thrift shops, or in cotton wire, or in plastic.
It never quite works.
